NYFW: Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2010

Marc Jacobs went for a sort of thrift shop chic for the Marc by Marc Jacobs show. Most of the clothes has a military/army vibe - utility jackets were teamed with dresses and belted neatly - or bundled up with a fur hat and an army style satchel. The colours were truly autumn - purple, red orange and gold made for a fun, colourful pieces - many of them designed with abstract shapes or lines.

The men’s clothes held true to this raw army look - but there was also many sophisticated outfits, with dark black, patterned suits being teamed with dark sunglasses. There was some sophistication in the womenswear too - with gold cocktail dresses, also dressed up with sunglasses but still with a touch of thrift. The show was extremely likeable - the military vibe mixed with the thrifty edge worked superbly.
