PFW: Balenciaga Autumn/Winter 2010

Nicolas Ghesquière is a fashion genius and this collection is the proof. This is so ahead of the game right now and is completely different to anything else. He said about the collection:
"I was working on something domestic. Casual things mixed with classic. And a kind of rigidity”
The collection was stunning - amazing structure, tailoring and colours made for breathtaking clothes with a stunning futurism. If did have a sort of classic vibe, which was introduced by a few classic looking pieces.  The crisp, streamline jackets were teamed with structured tops (some patterned) and skinny jeans with a sort of scale like texture all over.

I think the textures were what made some of the pieces really special and was completely original. It still had a Parisian edge but with an modern edge which was prevented from being too high-tech by Ghesquiére’s fine attention to detail. This was one of the best shows of all the fashion weeks so far. An absolutely startling show full of mouth watering, clothes which were so complexly designed with fine details that they look sharp and flawless.
