We reported earlier on last week that Giles Deacon had been spotted attending a meeting with the owner of Emanuel Ungaro, and now it has been confirmed that Deacon will be working as the house's creative director from now on.

The news was confirmed yesterday when the editor of JCReport, Jason Campbell tweeted the following simple message:
It’s official Giles Deacon is in at Ungaro.
This is not the first time that the fashion house's owner has attempted to give itself a drastic makeover - it has in recent years attempted to give the company a face-lift by appointing several new creative directors. In the last few years alone we've had Giambattista Valli, Peter Dundas, Vincent Darre, Esteban Cortazar and then Lindsay Lohan and Estrella.
Ungaro's owner is hoping to make the label sustainable and even profitable by 2011. Giles is a good move for the house, and will no doubt give Ungaro yet another lease of life.
