For most of us, it seems slightly pointless spending big bucks when it comes to pieces for the beach - when you know it's going to get completely soaked and sand encrusted and probably won't even look the same after one wear. The beach is about having fun, not worrying about your expensive bikini getting wet - so I've put together 20 beach essentials which are under €55.00 - so you can look catwalk ready without the price tag.

In my quest, I managed to find some Chloé inspired sandals from Topshop, some Acne inspired sandals from Asos, some beautiful printed pieces - such as a tropical cover-up and a Hawaiian crop-top bikini, and even some cosmetic essentials such as facial sun protection (always important!).

If you've already got a boring bikini that you want to spruce up, add some wooden jewellery or a floppy hat, or invest in a printed sarong. With a printed bikini, keep accessories metallic/neutral so that your swimwear stands out.

Underwire and halterneck bikinis are great for girls with bigger boobs, and flatter chested girls can get away with bikini tops that are less supported, such as triangle style.
