Drawing inspiration from Bianca Jagger in her most fashionable heyday, Phillip Lim created updated looks fit for a 70's style princess for his 3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2011 collection. Equal doses of glam and relaxed functionality, each outfit tells the story of a girl who is effortlessly impeccable, and incapable of a wardrobe misstep.Cropped pants, a splatter-print frock, a long oversize shirt-dress and an olive green romper were just a few of the pieces that displayed the sort of ease meant to be evoked. Lim also expertly used a few standard pieces in many of the looks for a sense of continuity, seeming to indicate that the collection represented a definitive wardrobe, and the creme-colored carryall, bold bangle and worn brown ankle-boots were those items in a woman's closet that make their way into almost every outfit.
Style that looks effortless is hard to master, but Lim seems to know exactly what the keys are.
