Minimalism has been a buzzword around the fashion industry lately, and Francisco Costa embraced the idea for his Calvin Klein Resort 2011 collection. With simple shapes, neutral colors and un-accessorized looks, basics were back.
Mostly the models wore shades of white, gray and nude, and when colors were added, they were subtle. A bright yellow ankle-length dress and a below-the-knee shift in pale green delivered just a touch of color to the collection. The silhouettes seen were easy and free-falling, from the loose dresses, to tops and coats just barely cinched at the waist. Overall, it was a smart showing of wearable looks for the everyday woman.
