J. Mendel Resort 2011: The Ballerina

Gilles Mendel drew inspiration from the refined and ladylike wardrobe of a ballerina for the J. Mendel Resort 2011 collection. Chiffon, rhinestones, fur and draping were the feminine touches that made for a perfectly poised showing.

Mendel had a number of standout looks in the collection. An all-white shirt and shorts duo with a fur jacket, a draped dress in shades of blue with a floaty skirt, and an embellished blouse with a sheer back paired with a prim creme mini were great pieces with alluring appeal. The gowns in the collection were also beautifully made, from a nude one-shouldered dress to a long-sleeved dark blue number with a backless cutout.

Any girl looking to emulate the grace and sophistication of a dancer's wardrobe will be desperate to own J. Mendel's latest.
