Max Azria Resort 2011: Africa Inspired

Max Azria's collection is anything but dull. It's colorful pieces are inspired by Peter Beard's images of Africa, and are different than a lot of the neutrals which we have seen recently on the runway. Greens are a big color in the collection from shades of lime to deep olive - the colors are eye-catching. Aside from green, colours such as purples, reds, and yellows are sprinkled in with a mix of tie-dye/animal print. It may sound a bit much, but with a mix of simple accessories, such as brown belts and neutral shoes, it balances out well.

Aside from color and print, Azria incorporated several minimalistic pieces. The collection is made up of half wild animal-esque pieces and half neutral safari pieces. White cotton tees and khaki capris allow for comfortableness and versatility. Black dresses and pants also allow for some dressing up, or dressing down. These neutral pieces can be worn separately for a casual day trip, or paired with the brighter, more colorful pieces for a night out.

From long silk dresses to khaki shorts to animal print mini dresses, the pieces are diverse and perfect for vacation, which is what Azria wanted the travel-themed collection to be.
