Nina Ricci Resort 2011: Lady-like Edge

Ruffles, pastels, and floaty silhouettes made for an ethereal Resort 2011 collection for design house Nina Ricci. Perfect for the text book 'girly-girl,' this line put a modern edge on all things sugar, spice and everything nice.

Although heavily focused on dresses, Creative director, Peter Copping's inclusion of easy jackets, pants and a noteworthy trench added versatility to the line, while pops of bright pink and a subtle orange kept the collection current and fresh. Pastels played a heavy part in making this line the epitome of heavenly style mixed with small edgy details, such as fur, frills and waist-cinching belts.

Although classically feminine, Copping succeeded in reworking traditional "pretty" details, making this Resort collection original, desirable, and fresh.
