Sonia Rykiel Pushing to Increase US Sales

Sonia Rykiel has decided to show her upcoming resort and pre-spring collection in the US in a bid to attract more buyers. The famous French fashion house's resort collection will show at Milk Studios this week, and they have also hired Caroline Dumiel as their new director of international sales - another push to increase their sales not only in the US, but worldwide.

The US showing of the resort and pre-spring collections will attract more buyers then the usual Paris collections, and Rykiel hopes to put her name on the map stateside. The french fashion house, although popular in Europe, has had slow sales in the US market. Known best for it's striped, quirky knitwear pieces and pop art inspired aesthetic, Rykiel's work seemed to go against the grain of what the majority of American's find appealing.

Now seems to be a good time to re-launch to the American market, as sales are booming at other French labels such as Isabel Marant (who recently opened a New York store) and Paul & Joe.
