Sonia Rykiel Resort 2011: It's All in the Details

Fresh, fun and carefree. Sonia Rykiel's Resort 2011 collection was easy elegance. From the printed and blush-toned jumpsuits, to the bright dresses and cutout suspenders, Rykiel hit all the right notes, updating some of her signatures for looks that have never been more relevant.

There were some excellent pieces in the collection; the casual cropped khakis with a lightweight knit, the red cocktail dress with sheer sleeves, and the ankle length gown with a hint of sparkle in the bodice were all sublime. But the best was in the details. Bright shoes, bows cinching the waist and found at the neckline, an array of chic hats, zigzag trimmed extras, and bags ranging from clutches to cross-shoulder to carryall. The smallest touches elevated each look.

It was simultaneously playful and chic, and all-together fantastic.
