Summer Beauty: Makeup Brights

Summer brights: one of the key trends for Spring/Summer beauty, is delightfully simple to replicate. A slick of bright blue eyeshadow or red lipgloss will have you channeling Luella or Prada in a matter of seconds. The bright look was seen on several catwalks for the Spring/Summer season, normally with one focal point such as bright eyes or lips.

At Balenciaga (left) models wore red eyeshadow in the corner of each eye, and an exaggerated cat flick in a deep blue almost out to the hairline.

At Prada models wore messy honeycomb hair with bright red lips, shiny in texture and precisely applied. Marc by Marc Jacobs had a similar vibe, with pops of 80's pink appearing on models mouths with toned down eyeshadow and big colourful hair bows.

Luella lead the trend with circular bright shadows in blue and red which stood alone on the face and became a colourful, eye catching element to the look.

With Summer now upon us, we can get away with adding a daring dash of bright colours to simple outfits, or bolder patterned pieces. Keep the rest of your face natural with a light layer foundation and some cheek highlighter to set off the bright look.
