Thakoon's Resort 2011: A Parisian in Africa

Thakoon Panichgul described his resort 2011 collection as a "Parisian going to Africa". It was inspired by Malick Sidibé's 1960 portraits of West African Children. His resort collection contained bright colors such as vivid reds and oranges fused with soft desert colors like brown, cream and charcoal. The linen material parallels the bright oranges, reds and dark charcoal with the sense of weightlessness. The patterns used on his above the knee dresses give his collection a youthful approach to his classic cut lines.

Thakoon's collection includes a waist length double breasted trench coat in tan for the Summer showers, flowing blouses with symmetrical patterns in chocolate brown and burnt orange, and a draped maxi dress in a beautiful coral. The resort collection is a perfect mix of feminine colors, free flowing lines and tribal patterns.
