Acne Menswear Spring/Summer 2011

Creative director Jonny Johansson has something unique going with his Swedish label, Acne. Not only does it manage to epitomize street cool, but it doesn't seem to particularly follow a lead from anyone else. This is also true of Acne’s menswear Spring/Summer 2011 collection, which sees Jonny playing with quite simple forms. Slouchy designs such as t-shirts and baggy jeans were given a revamp by teaming them with spectacular, futuristic sunglasses which were at the heart of this collection.

The sparing colour palette incorporated some canary yellow in the form of t-shirts and rain hats, as well as a deep blue which veered on violet that was used on long, disheveled trenches, t-shirts and shrunken suits. Each separate look was a new idea - like street style at its best, individualism was the key.
