The book in itself is a design triumph - each page is made from seeded paper, so that if the book is planted, watered and receives sunlight, will grow real flowers. The book is wrapped in a McQueen metalized brocade from the spring/summer 2010 show.
Visionaire founder Stephen Gan commented on the tribute:
"Visionaire first featured the designs of Lee Alexander McQueen in 1996 and since that time, he has been a continuous inspiration and a presence in Visionaire, McQueen's special commissions are among our most treasured contributions. His daring designs and challenging ideas of fashion have consistently excited and provoked us."
He added:
"In 2003, McQueen came to our SoHo office and gallery to discuss collaborating on an issue of Visionaire - an issue that never came to be, this is our tribute to him."
The boxed set is limited to just 1,500 copies and retails for $295. It's available at Alexander McQueen stores as well as from the Visionaire website, visionaireworld.com
