Valentino Haute Couture Fall 2010

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli called their couture collection The Dark Side of First Love, and it was definitely geared toward the younger crowd. Short skirts, plenty of bows, and petal-like details added a touch of whimsy to the darker theme of the show.

Many of the standout pieces were not saturated in red and black though, but rather added the pure hue; a white trapeze jacket with bows running down the front, a black and white dress with a voluminous top and dramatic leather gloves with large bows at the wrist, and a strapless frock with tiers of feathers.

The collection was definitely a different kind of couture show, but a fun one. The detailing was impeccable, right down to the creme cage dress-even it had tiny bows.
