Model Watch: Barbara Palvin

Born in 1993 in Hungary, Barbara Palvin began her modelling career aged just 13. Barbara began modelling in Asia, where she quietly modelled for some time as a young girl. Now, Barbara is 16, and is on the verge of hitting the big time. This season was her first modelling season which saw Barbara on the catwalks in both Milan and Paris - quite a feat for someone so young and unknown not so long ago. This season alone, Barbara walked for Prada exclusively in Milan, and also at Louis Vuitton, Loewe and Nina Ricci, as well as some others in Paris.

Barbara's recently been featured in an advertisement campaign for Victoria's Secret Pink line, as well as for Pull & Bear. Deemed to be the next Natalia Vodianova, Barabara is actually shorter than the average model at only 5'9. She has graced the cover of Jalouse magazine, as well as starring in shoots for Vogue Russia, Harper's Bazaar, Elle and W.

Barbara talks about her career: “I’m growing and learning a lot, I meet very interesting people and do not stop traveling, it’s a fantastic job." Asked if she always wanted to be a model, Barbara replies: “Not really. I wanted to be an actress or singer. And I still want to be. I’m going to study when I end school. But I like to be a model, I do not know how much time, as much as possible, perhaps until I have 24 years, but it is something I don’t think now”.

Barbara may still be a newcomer, but with her glaring blue eyes and flawless complexion (and yes, her slightly wonky walk too), Barbara has the potential to have a long career, just like Natalia who she is often compared to. Some have said that she will go on to become a Victoria's Secret Angel, but these days, Victoria's Secret models are transitioning into high-fashion shoots anyway, so this is the perfect opportunity for Barbara to become a new face in both worlds.

Here is the best of Barbara's work so far.
