Spotlight on Isabel Marant

From an accessory line to a womenswear line, French designer, Isabel Marant has made herself a name over the past two decades with her simple, yet chic clothing. Known for her cropped trousers, tailored jackets, and loose-fitting knit-wear, her line is one to be reckoned with, especially among the indie crowds.

Marant has had some experience in finding her knack for fashion designing, since she began making her own clothes at the mere age of fifteen. Soon after, she began studying design at the prominent private school, Studio Berçot. After working with other designers, she branched off and soon opened her own studio in Paris, France. She instantly became a hit, receiving acknowledging awards, such as Best Designer of the Year and others.

This designer has a strong fan base of women who want effortless style, and is probably due to her ever changing creations, while they still somehow remain true to her concept of minimalist bohemian. Her past campaigns aren't far off from each other, but still present us with a fresh perspective of clothes we would want to wear to a music festival or out on the town with the girls.

Spring-Summer 2010

Her latest collection for Fall/Winter, featuring Kate Moss, adapts 50's glamour with the current times, featuring slim cigarette pants that are cropped at the ankle, big fur coats, glammed up high-waisted skirts, and skinny neck scarves. A bit more glam then the usual free-spirited vibe, it still remains true to the hearts of those daring to be a little different.
