During the Resort Show Season we reported that Zac Posen would be relocating. He would begin to show in Paris instead of New York. What many didn't know at that time was that Posen would not be leaving New York completely. While his eponymous line will be shown in Paris where he feels that his pieces will be better understood, his lower priced line, Z Spoke by Zac Posen, will still show in New York.
He says that for the Zac Posen line he wanted to have an international voice, so Paris was undoubtedly the city of choice. For Z Spoke, Zac says:
Z Spoke is about creating a new American look which is effortlessly fun and playful. Collection is emotional-all about textures, construction and techniques which are true to the legacy of French fashion.Showing two lines in two different cities means that Posen joins the ranks of names like Marc Jacobs and Giles Deacon. Marc Jacobs says that the location change get's him in the right mindset for the collection he is working on because of the different aesthetics. Zac says this:
It certainly is a challenge for my studio, yet we all believe in it and that makes all the work worthwhile.
