Alexander McQueen Memorial Held Today

Today, at 11am in St Paul's Cathedral, a memorial was held in memory of Alexander McQueen. Members of the fashion industry, along with close friends turned out to the event, including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Anna Wintour and Pam Hogg. During the heart-felt service, Anna Wintour, Shaun Leane , Suzy Menkes and Annabelle Nielson all addressed the crowd who had gathered, while Jonathan Akeroyd, the CEO of Alexander McQueen, along with Philip Treacy said prayers for the late designer.
Singer Bjork gave a touching performance of Gloomy Sunday, and Anna Wintour made a poignant speech in memory of McQueen, stating that he was a:
"complex and gifted young man, born not far from here, who as a child used to sit on the roof of his tower block and watch the birds circling overhead."
