MFW: Missoni Spring/Summer 2011

African and Aztec prints collided for a bright, tribal inspired collection at Missoni’s Spring/Summer runway show. Knitwear was replaced with a silky, floaty fabric as models donned loose fitted dresses in a the style of ponchos and kaftans, as well as floppy hats and dark sunglasses with a beaded trim. Zigzags were coloured in bright shades of pink, orange, yellow and sky blue. It was bright, bold and graphic, with a feminine touch. Loosely fitted crop tops were paired with simple skirts, all adorned with the fashion house’s signature zigzags, as well as some other pieces which used a stripy, melody of colour in a harmonious and vivid pattern.

Angela Missoni’s designs stayed true to what Missoni is about - those patterns which never loose their touch thanks to Angela’s constant adaptation of their key signature. It was a fun and feminine collection, and when broken down, full of Summer wearables, such as the zigzag flat sandals and pretty patterned dresses which look ideal for a warm Summers day, sunbathing on a sandy Italian beach.
