Nicholas Kirkwood Takes Over at Pollini

Shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood has been named the creative director of Pollini. The title was previously held by Jonathan Saunders who decided to give up the role so he could concentrate his efforts on his own fashion line in March.

Pollini for Preen
This season, the label will only show accessories and will not show any ready-to-wear. The company has decided to focus on it's strength and thus discontinue it's clothing line, and will from here on out, only produce accessories with Kirkwood who will bring his strengths to the fore for the label.

Nicholas will begin to design for the label starting with the upcoming collection for Spring/Summer 2011.

His first task as creative director is to launch the  Pollini Forward Designer Project which will feature shoe designs for fashion labels such as Preen, Michael van der Ham, Meedham Kirchhoff, Louise Gray and Manish Arora. Each of these labels will have their shoe collection designed by Pollini, all of which will be available to purchase from February 2011.

The first showing of Nicholas Kirkwood's designs for Pollini will show at Milan Fashion Week later this month.
