NYFW: Cynthia Rowley Spring/Summer 2011

A constructor of dresses since age 7, Cynthia Rowley made her front row(and those viewing from livestream via First Comes Fashion) see dots for her Spring/Summer 2011 collection that she showed at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week held at Lincoln Center. A collection that could be described as "put together" if anything else, Rowley's latest collection includes sharp, clean lines, a floral print for when the customer is feeling a little eccentric, and very professional plaid for when the Cynthia Rowley woman becomes business oriented.

Focusing more on the skirt and dress instead of the pant, the silhouettes mainly contain full skirting. A past winner of the CFDA's Perry Ellis Award, Rowley creates accessories that are not imposing and have a clinical yet classic sense of appeal. Cut outs, sheer, and skinny belts are all trends that have been sprinkled throughout the collection. With this collection, Cynthia manages to nod to trends while still giving her customers pieces that will instantly be recognized as Rowley originals.
