NYFW: Doo.Ri Spring/Summer 2011

When the tones began to be muted for Summer/Spring 2011 at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, one could guess that either Doo. Ri. was going to mute her entire show or pump up the show color. What may have not been expected was a pretty much monochromatic showing of soft fabrics, and shades.

Doo. Ri. utilized draping and what can only be described as a fresh aesthetic for Spring 2011. She begins to extend herself even further from her "jersey dress roots" while not leaving her bread and butter: a design with a keen eye to architecture. Maybe the Korean designer anticipates her customer starting anew and needing a new wardrobe of staples that are simplistic, yet unique and can easily be worked into many looks. Whatever she's anticipating for her customer, we can already tell one thing: the customer will always look relaxed, clean, and put together.
