NYFW: Organic Spring/Summer 2011

While most view tomorrow as the official beginning of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York, there were enough events today to think about contesting that theory. Willow, Sachin + Babin, and Organic by John Patrick all showed today and gave us what may amount to an appetizer for the week to come. While no one can say definitively the direction of the spring 2011 season, we can use the Organic collection as a general direction.

Transparency as well as a direct opposition to body con seems to be in the cards for Spring 2011. In addition to this the Organic collection showed a very muted color palette for the season. The combination of all of this as well as the absence of heels leaves us with a very relaxed spring. Now we just have to wait and see if the rest of the New York designers got the memo.
