Original Supermodel: Elle Macpherson

Elle Macpherson is also one of the original supermodels of the 1990’s. Elle was born on March 29, 1963 in Cronulla, New South Wales, Australia. Elle was discovered by a modeling agent in Aspen, Colorado when she was eighteen years old and was immediately signed to the Click Modeling Agency.

Elle immediately gained exposure in Elle magazine where she posed in every issue for six years. She then gained even more exposure as a supermodel through Sports Illustrated magazine annual swimsuit issue which she landed a record of five times.She also did high fashion catwalk modeling for Ralph Lauren, Azzedine Alaia, John Galliano, Valentino, Christian Dior and most recently for Louis Vuitton.

Elle diversified her career in 1990 when she became an entrepreneur with her globally recognized signature lingerie line, Elle Macpherson Intimates based in Australia. The business has grown into a multimillion-dollar enterprise. Recently Elle Macpherson announced The Body, Elle's own bath and body collection to complement her lingerie line.

Throughout her modeling career Elle Macpherson decided to act and has appeared in quite a few feature films including Alice, Sirens, Jane Eyre, If Lucy Fell, The Mirror has Two faces, Batman & Robin, The Edge, With Friends like These and South Kensington.Elle has two sons Arpad Flynn Alexander Busson born February 14, 1998 and Aurelius Cy Andre Busson born 4 February 4, 2003.
