Dries van Noten Accessories S/S 2011

The Dries van Noten Spring/Summer 2011 accessories collection has clearly been sourced a mix of inspirations. From futuristic metallic-sheen gradients, to ethnic beading, and even an 80’s style striped belt (in bright blue, a sunny orange and red). The block heel also got a modern revamp, this time ‘block’ took on a whole new shape, spanning deeper underneath the sole of the shoe - almost like a pair of wedges with a slit up the middle, but not quite.
The ethnic beading worked its way onto a few pairs of shoes, some which were given a new spin with the touch of a tan leather or just on a revamped shape. The bags featured were small, tidy clutches - one floral clutch displayed a delicate Japanese style print, and another featuring a delicately formed 3D rosette in a pale pink, stacked carefully to one side.

One pair of pale pink plastic sunglasses with a black frame was also a part of the accessories collection - these were a simple pair of shades, but somehow in keeping with the rest of the collection, perhaps due to the tying colour. The collection had a fun, summer feel, while the block heel shoes were clearly the most impressive design element with a range of patterns, colours and shapes to put a Spring 2011 into your step.
