From Crow to Couture

Sometimes we must ask ourselves, how much, is too much?

As a true fan of minimalism, I was shocked when I was drawn to a gothic McQueen Autumn/Winter 2010 coat dominating a mannequin in one of my favorite Paris boutiques, Montaigne Market.

Although this birdlike manteau is ominous, it is also out of this world; a garment that deserves its own display case and maybe even a fan club! The detailing on the sides is exquisite but its Edgar Allan Poe veneer is somewhat off putting. However, if someone handed me $19,365.00 euros (to be exact) I think I would fly on home with this bird.

What do you think?

Is fashion becoming too feathery? Or if robbing a bank was socially acceptable, would you considering finding this jacket a place in your coop?
