Model Watch: Heidi Klum

 Heidi Klum was born on June 1, 1973, in Bergische Gladbach, Germany. In 1991 while still in high school she was encouraged to participate in the 1992 Petra Magazine Model competition, where she won and was offered a three year modeling contract with Metropolitan. Heidi decided to decline the offer to finish high school instead. After graduating from high school she went on to study fashion design, but then decided to pursue a modeling career. 
 In 1993, she decided to move to the U.S. after a few modeling jobs in Paris and Milan. Heidi arrived in Miami and then relocated to New York City. In NYC, Heidi appeared in many print advertisements including Bonne Bell, Finesse and Givenchy’s Amarige to name a few. In 1997, Heidi began her long term relationship with Victoria’s Secret becoming a supermodel. Heidi appeared on many fashion covers including Elle, Vogue and Mademoiselle.

Throughout her modeling career, Heidi has launched a clothing line, a swimsuit line, jewelry line, shoe line and a perfume. She also expanded her resumé by becoming an actress and has appeared in television shows such as Spin City and Sex and the City. She also appeared in a few films including 54, Blow Dry, The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, Ella Enchanted and The Devil Wears Prada.

In 2004, her reality television series became a huge success. Heidi is the producer, hostess and judge of Project Runway. In 2010, Heidi announced that she has ended her time as a Victoria’s Secret model. After many years of having a successful career Heidi is continuing to modeling and her career is still as strong as ever - she was just named the new face of Ann Taylor.
