Linda Evangelista is considered one of the original supermodels of the 1990’s. Linda Evangelista was born on May 10th, 1965, in St. Catharine's, Ontario, Canada. Linda knew she wanted to pursue a modeling career by the age of 12. She was then discovered by a modeling scout by the age of 15. Later she moved to New York and signed with the Elite Model Agency. She then landed a cover shoot with Vogue magazine and then decided to move to Paris to try to develop her career even further.
Linda had to wait three years to land the cover of Vogue magazine. Soon after, her modeling career took off and she was on every fashion magazine cover. Linda walked the catwalk throughout her career for Bill Blass, Chanel, Fendi, Gianni Versace, Prada, Valentino, Christian Dior, John Galliano, Jean Paul Gaultier and Lanvin to name a few.
Besides landing every fashion magazine cover and walking at shows, Linda also appeared in advertising campaigns for Alberta Ferretti, Anne Klein, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Chloé, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, Gianni Versace, Hermés, Perry Ellis, Ralph Lauren, Jill Sander, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior makeup.
Linda appeared in Unzipped, by Isaac Mizrahi, and Catwalk, a documentary produced by Christy Turlington and in 2003, she appeared in Sex and the City. Linda now uses her fame to help raise awareness for breast cancer research. She has a son named Augustin James Evangelista born October 11, 2006.
