Julia Restoin-Roitfeld Reveals Carine's Dress Tips

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld is the leggy daughter of famed Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld, who recently stepped down from her position at the magazine. In an interview with Style magazine, Julia revealed some of her mother's famous dressing and beauty tips that Carine has passed down to Julia as she grew up. One piece of advice Carine gave Julia was to 'not over do it':

"Try not to over think it, because, if you do, it's not authentic. [Also] navy and black is one of the best combinations. And never to pluck my eyebrows which I did and now regret."

Julia also admits that when she was younger, she was enamored by the models she was surrounded by, and wanted to be like them:

"When I was 16, seeing my mum surrounded by all these models, I secretly wanted to do it, but only because it would have been flattering for my ego. When I got to 20 I thought, 'Ok, I'm too old now.' Then Tom Ford called." Tom Ford adoringly once described Julia as "exactly what beauty is to me".

With Carine's departure from Vogue Paris announced just days ago, rumors already began to circulate that Carine would be joining Tom Ford for a project soon, something which the designer has put to rest today. Ford said: "Carine and I have no plans to work together at the moment, and it is nothing that we have even discussed, but of course I think she is brilliant and we are close friends so who knows about the future."

In Julia's interview, she also said that Carine is a hardworking woman, who is extremely passionate about her work:"My mum works so hard, even though it doesn't feel like work for her because she's just so passionate about it. She couldn't live without it."
