Lucy in Disguise

Retirement is often known as the end of one’s career but for singer, Lily Allen, it seems as though her career in fashion is just beginning.

Nestled in the beautiful Covent Garden, rests Lucy in Disguise a vintage boutique owned by Lily and her sister, Sarah Owen. As a Chanel muse and style icon, Allen has had her taste of fashion culture and resultantly, learned the art of curating couture.

I discovered the store in September, coincidentally, the first weekend it was open. Immediately I was drawn to the whimsical “Pleasantville”esque dresses and the wonderfully nostalgic 1920’s evening coats lingering on the racks.

Time stops when you enter the shop which is reminiscent of a 1950’s boudoir. Yet, what is most refreshing about Allen’s store is how fantastic the garments and accessories are laid out: a rare and much appreciated gesture for impatient shoppers such as myself. So if you happen to be in London “Lucy in Disguise” is a definite go to spot you’ll leave feeling like a pampered pin-up!
