Carine Roitfeld to Start Her Own Magazine?

According to Purple Fashion editor Olivier Zahm, Carine Roitfeld may start her own magazine now that she no longer works for Vogue Paris. Carine and Olivier are currently working on a book together, and he says that launching a new publication is the next step Carine will take to furthering her career, and he also describes her as the best editor in France.

Zahm commented to NyMag: "She will start her own magazine, she's open to anything, and she's the best fashion editor in France now." When asked if she might launch a digital magazine, he was unsure but commented that he believed it was more likely that the new magazine would be a print edition.

He also commented that Vogue Paris will miss Carine, and are likely to ask her to come back as editor in the future: "She will be really deeply missed at Vogue, I'm sure. They will call her back in six months and pray that she comes back."

According to Zahm, the book Carine is working on is a make-shift biography which will come in a scrapbook form, and include behind-the-scenes photos from shoots, as well as personal letters:  "It's a biography, we just went into her apartment and took everything that happened — every kind of little element about her life, her style, her obsessions. It will be nice." The book is due out late next year.
