As we reported earlier today, John Galliano was arrested for alleged assault as well as making anti-Semitic remarks last night in Paris (read the story here), and although the police released the designer this morning, Christian Dior have decided to suspend his role at the fashion house for now.
Sidney Toledano, CEO of Dior couture announced that the house of Dior is suspending Galliano while they wait for the results of the investigation which will look in to the incident. Toledano said: "The House of Dior said with the utmost firmness the policy of zero tolerance towards any remarks or racist or anti-Semitic attitudes."
With Paris Fashion Week looming, it would seem that Galliano will thus not make an appearance at the upcoming Christian Dior Autumn/Winter 2011 collection show, and it remains to be seen if his own Galliano collection will go ahead as scheduled.
