For Spring/Summer 2011, designers did not neglect eyewear - many used sunglasses as one of their key elements, or to complete an already quirky look, such as the Willy Wonka-esque glasses we saw at
Prada which accompanied Miuccia's off-the-wall tropical prints and acid-stripes, while the duo-tone jewel shade sunglasses we saw at Fendi this season juxtaposed beautifully with Karl Lagerfeld's pastel playsuits and elegant daywear.
Also making a return this season were cat-eye glasses, seen most notably at Christian Dior. Coming in bright shades of orange and red, these sunglasses illustrated Galliano's already prominent 50's inspiration seen throughout the dazzling collection. Proenza Schouler and Jil Sander adopted circular-framed glasses for their collections, while Marc Jacobs added a vintage-inspired pair of butterfly sunglasses in a light tortoise finish. Below are just 7 statement pairs we saw this season, for the brave to rock fearlessly - Anna Dello Russo take note!
