Dior have officially confirmed that they have put an end their relationship with head designer John Galliano - he has been fired with immediate effect. The decision came after Dior saw the video of Galliano's recently released anti-semitic rant which was caught on tape by a group of people at Le Perle bar in Paris (read about that here).
Christian Dior Chief Executive Sidney Toledano said in a statement: "I very firmly condemn what was said by John Galliano, which totally contradicts the values which have always been defended by Christian Dior."
The fashion house has yet to comment on who will replace Galliano. An announcement is also expected to be made later today by prosecutors against the designer in relation to any charges brought against him. An official working on the case said: "Either the probe will lead to prosecutions or it won't, but we'll soon know."
The Dior Autumn/Winter 2011 collection will go ahead as planned on Friday as part of Paris Fashion Week, without Galliano present.
