"Princess Margaret on acid" was how Christopher Kane described his Spring/Summer 2011 collection at the time, and now that it has hit stores, we have yet again come face-to-face with the acid-bright, drug inspired collection that melds sophisticated Chanel-like tailoring with laser-cut leather and colours so bright, you'd need sunglasses to look at it for very long. These neon beauties were created by Kane to look like cheap, synthetic leather, to perhaps juxtapose the sophisticated shapes with something with less luxury, even though they really are made from leather - perhaps a bit of a joke on Kane's part. He himself said that all other colours are boring to him, which is why everything is neon: "Neon gets me going, every other color is so banal."
