Trend: Wearing the Trousers For Spring

As with any trend, each designer has their own take, and this season was all about statement trousers, which came in all shapes and forms. From the oversized white suit trousers at Bottega Veneta, to Marc Jacobs' violet flares, the trouser was given an overhaul this season. The main factor to getting the trend right is simply making sure that the trousers you chose are the most attention-grabbing, demanding part of your look.

Many designers used playful shapes and eye-popping colours to achieve this with the trousers they had on show. Gucci's high-waisted trousers came in an emerald green and were cinched in with a gold tassel belt, while Stella McCartney's masculine suit was completed with a sleek tailored pair with leg-elongating creases.

MaxMara and Marc Jacobs both made their statement trousers in bright colours - MaxMara showed a slightly cropped, minimally designed pair of skinny trousers in a citrus yellow shade, while at Marc Jacobs the 70's made a return with a pair of billowing plum trousers. Chloé's Hannah MacGibbon stuck to the usual colour palette of nudes, contrasting a light nude rollneck top with a pair of neatly tailored, straight leg trousers in a darker rust.

Below are just a few examples of designers and their take on the statement trouser - the big question is, how will you wear yours?
