Givenchy & Converse Team Up For Disappointing Collaboration

Designer collaborations are becoming the norm, but it's something that a designer label has to do with extreme care. Lanvin's H&M collaboration for example went down well, with lots of happy fans which were offered reasonably priced items which seems to epitomize all that Alber Elbaz had designed over the past few years at the fashion house. The collaboration had a sense of excitement which was built through H&M's surprise online videos and well put together campaign which built a great deal of interest. Now, Givenchy have just announced a relatively small collaboration of their own - they're teaming up with Converse for a limited edition pair of sneakers.

The collaboration will only available in Japan, and is supposed to be a sort of cross-breed between Riccardo Tisci's signature gothic inspiration and his favoured leopard print which has been melded with the usual Converse high-top aesthetic. The trainers will be available in converse stores throughout Japan, as well as Givenchy stores in Mitsukoshi, Isetan, and Hankyu, from April 27th.

Below is a peek at the design - disappointing?
