Trend: The Daytime Clutch

Take your cue from the streets and add a daytime, casual clutch to your summer look this season. Many designers have issued clutch bags which are more suitable for daytime wear - forget those tiny embellished evening clutches that are made to fit in a lipstick for a night out - think big and statement for day-wear. Oversized is the safest bet, and looks much more casual than a smaller clutch bag - Proenza Schouler have issued their PS1 bag in clutch form, made out of a light linen material and finished off with a peach piping. If you want a smaller style, look for something that has some hardware on show, such as Mulberry's 'Postman's Lock All In One' which comes in an attention-grabbing raspberry colour. Below are a few street style examples, as well as our picks of the best daytime clutches for Spring/Summer 2011.
