French shoe designer Christian Louboutin's fluffy slingbacks, studded black clutches and matte red leather shoulder bags are a big change from the designer's 50's inspired nautical stripes that we saw for Spring/Summer 2011 this year. Perhaps inspired by the kinkier side of leather (think S&M meets Sid Vicious), or perhaps just good old rock'n'roll, Louboutin has gone gothic for Autumn/Winter 2011. Adding dyed red fur to a pair of buckled peep-toe heels and sprinkling a pair of knee-high boots with spiky studs, Louboutin's creations are edgy without losing the sort of sophistication that attracts the usual Louboutin customer.
One statement pair of ankle boots are solely crafted from fur and given a pointed elf-like toe, while a gold chain bag follows a similar suit, finished with a gold push-lock close. When broken down, these accessories are the perfect red carpet and everyday pieces - original enough to stand out yet not lacking that girlish femininity that Louboutin seems to thread into the lining of each of his beauties.
