Everyone is Wearing: Balenciaga's Cutout Boots

Created for Spring/Summer 2011, Balenciaga's cut-out flat boots have an armour-like facade, fusing the punkish Doc Martin aesthetic with a flash of flesh and silver industrial style silver hardware. These shoes continue to pop up in editorials and on the street. So far, they have been spotted in Nylon magazine, Vogue China and Vogue Nippon, while they have been snapped on numerous occasions for street style blogs. The shoes are also actress-turned-designer Mary-Kate Olsen's favourite right now - she was spotted rocking them with a printed mini-skirt and textured jacket recently. They are available in a few colours and finishes (including metallic blue and red), but classic black seems to be the most popular so far - check out where they have been seen below!
