Down a dimly lit stairwell bounces Daphne Groeneveld wearing halterneck jumpsuits, white-framed sunglasses and bathing suits - whipping her hair and transforming quicker than Superman slipping into his superhero suit - and we are quickly whisked away to the world of Resort, bringing us to a sunny climate with the perfect holiday wardrobe to match. Alber Elbaz was inspired by a variety of diverse muses from Madame Grès to Princes Harry and William. The Grès part was obvious - lavish floor-sweeping floaty dresses, an ombré fringe mini-dress, an intricately embellished white gown.
Elbaz's signatures were also alive and well - a few quirky t-shirts (one that read "Save the World, Wear Lanvin") the bow-back dress, the usual all-over ruffles that we all identify with the Lanvin label. The collection as a whole was everything Resort should be - ultra glamorous, fun, exciting and luxurious. Elbaz makes a woman look like a woman, without forgetting that each woman can be playful, seductive and beautiful, and he has done it again here.
