Hung up with string, each piece from the debut Rodarte couture collection was displayed like a work of art as part of 'Pitti W' held in Florence. With 10 gowns in total, each intricately designed dress was a marvel - featuring subtle pleats, feathers, lamé, sequins and embellished with Swarovski crystals on light chiffon, organza and taffeta silks. The Mulleavy sisters, Kate and Laura, commented that they drew their inspiration from Florence's rich artistic history: “Laura and I have been deeply inspired by Florence and its artistic legacy. We have spent countless hours dreaming of the poetic city, every detail magnified by our own curiosity and imagination.” The collection is set to move on to th Los Angeles County Museum of Art after its Pitti appearance.
