Nicola Formichetti is Launching His Own Label

He may already be Mugler's creative director, and the fashion director of Vogue Hommes Japan, but Nicola Formichetti is ready for another task - he's launching his own label. Nicola, who got his big break as a stylist for Lady Gaga, is gearing up to launch a pop-up store in New York and revealed that he'll be giving customers a first look at his new label at the pop-up store. Speaking on his current role at Mugler, Nicola says he wants to continue building the label to be a "global brand" so wouldn't be letting his work slip even with the launch of his own label:

"I want Mugler to become a digital global brand. I want to create a new kind of fashion brand, a new way of looking at fashion and take a step into digital communication, a kind of brand that hasn't been seen before, something new for our next generation. We need to take fashion to the next level! Its needed right now. It's just a start…"

Nicola's pop-up store is set to launch in Manhattan during New York Fashion Week -  at 21 on 57 Walker street, Tribeca, New York, from September 8. Although there is no telling what his own line will bring, we're guessing it won't stray too far from the creations he's constantly dressing his muse Lady Gaga in.
