A crowd of models turned out to support the launch of 'Modelinia Beautiful Friends Forever Bracelets' by nOir Jewelry. All sales from the bracelets, which cost $35 each and are created in the colours of the Somali flag, go to 'Save the Children' a charity which aims to help children affected by the drought and famine in Somalia. With 29,000 children under the age of 5 already dead because of the drought, British model Jourdan Dunn commented that she felt the need to get involved as a mother: “As a mother I was eager to join the cause, and Iman is such an inspiration, I’m so excited to work with her to bring awareness to the crisis.”
Model Iman also spoke on the event: “Back when I was a model we used to joke about Fashion Week in New York because it always looked like the United Nations Summit because girls descend on New York from all different corners of the world. So I thought models should be given back their voices.”
