Freja Beha Erichsen Participates in 'Doctors Without Borders'

Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen has taken some time out of her schedule as a model to take part in Doctors Without Borders, an organization which assists people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe. In an appeal for donations, Freja wrote:

Dear everyone and anyone,

Let us gather as an industry and give a day’s salary, whatever that may be, for Medecins Sans Frontiers (Doctors Without Borders) in order to help provide the much needed means for these incredible individuals to be able to help humanity and save lives. Let us help fight malnutrition and basic diseases that if left untreated are fatal. We can all contribute to make this world a little more beautiful and own up to the responsibility that lies with us ethically and morally. Please spread the word and let us make a joined effort in Paris and other places on October 4th!!

 Many thanks, Freja Beha

International MSF President Dr. Unni Karunakara spoke on Freja's contribution:

Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières is very grateful for Freja’s efforts to raise funds for our medical humanitarian work. Right now, our teams are working in Somalia battling measles and cholera among a population already struggling with a terrible malnutrition crisis, they are treating survivors of ongoing violence in Pakistan and are providing surgical services in Libya while fighting there continues. These are just some of the more than 60 countries around the world where MSF works – it wouldn’t be possible without individual donors around world who help us provide independent medical care to millions of patients ever year.
