Two designers sent strikingly similar looks down their catwalk for Spring/Summer 2011, heralding in a micro trend all on their own. Both looks in question teamed an electric shade of cobalt blue with a relaxed, subdued dusty beige colour. Israeli designer Yigal Azrouel created a pair of flowing cobalt blue trousers which he put with a more structured yet minimally designed beige long sleeved top. The next outfit continued on from the previous look, with a long minimal cobalt coat with pocket detail which he teamed with yellow trousers, a yellow untied jacket and a similar beige top.
We saw another take on the colour combination at Rachel Comey's show. She teamed a pair of striking cobalt blue 3/4 length loose trousers with a textured v-neck top and coordinating oversized coat, both in the same sandy beige shade. The cobalt and beige combo is a more subtle take on the colour blocking trend we saw for Spring/Summer 2011 this year, just with remixed nude shades teamed up with colour bright separates, the perfect way to update the look for Spring/Summer 2012.
