Close Up: Louis Vuitton's Snow White Carousel from Spring/Summer 2012

In the Louvre's Cour Carrée, Louis Vuitton let their imagination run wild, constructing a huge round snow white carousel, tinged with  pale pink lights for the Spring/Summer 2012 presentation. Each model sat atop of a miniature white pony before taking to the catwalk one by one, to model Jacobs' softer vision for the label (he had ditched the sexy dominatrix he created with much applause the season before). As fashion seems to slip away from the whimsical theatrics that used to be so regularly employed by the likes of Alexander McQueen, is it a breath of fresh air to see a label still in touch with what makes a fashion show so special - without letting it take over from the clothes of course. The carousel formed the heart of this fresh and magical show. Below is a look at the beautifully designed creation.
