Karl Lagerfeld Launching 'Masstige' Label Priced From €60 to €450

Karl Lagerfeld wants to bring luxury to the masses. So much so that he's launching a whole new label, simply named 'Karl'. The new line will include a huge new range of clothing - 100 womenswear pieces (where does he find the time?). After his successful collaboration with Macy's, Lagerfeld has been inspired to make his designs more accessible and affordable - prices will range from €60 (£52), stretching to €450 (£391). The collection is set to launch exclusively on Net-a-Porter.com (sign up here for updates)  in January, and will be sold mostly online, with plans to open 'Karl Lagerfeld'  stores in the future.

Lagerfeld told WWD about the new label: "It's my today's taste and style and a reflection of how I think a great number of people would like to be dressed now, I just want not too expensive clothes that people may like and perhaps want to wear. That was my concept for a long time, but my business partners in the past wanted to be like Chanel or Fendi without putting behind what is needed to be like that." The new collection will include classic black evening dresses, casual wear and basic denim.
